Opening Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this new day. As the light of morning fills the sky, I lift my eyes and heart to you. I ask for your guidance throughout the day, in my thoughts, words, and actions. As I journey through the day I pray that I keep you in my heart Thank you Lord God. Amen Readings Today we are looking at Prayer. We are very lucky in that Judy has written a reflection, so we will read that now

Is there a different way of talking about the Trinity?
Readings Today we are going to look at love and relationships and also the Divine Dance of Three – the Trinity. Undoubtedly the doctrine of the Trinity is vital and very important in protecting from heresies, accounting for the incarnation and providing salvation, and maintaining monotheism
Additionally, whilst we do understand God is mysterious, as humans we need to be able to talk and relate to God. However, we are constrained by language and mental capacity in understanding undoubtedly one of God’s most challenging mysteries. Richard Rohr considers the best language of theology we can bring is approximation, with terms such as ‘it is like’,’ similar to’ but never ‘it is’. Furthermore, Rohr stressed the importance of our humility in the face of mystery.[1] To do otherwise would mean ‘religion always worships itself and its formulations and never God.’[2] Welcome, and opening prayer
Dear Lord, please fill our hearts and minds with the Holy Spirit, and help us know we are children of God and holding our true identity with You. Please give us the wisdom to live our lives with You central to our being, to our identity, and with you as our ‘ultimate.’ And do not let us be tempted by the Golden Calves of today, forever beckoning us to grasp their shiny selves with promises of happiness. Let us stay true to You, always and forever. Thank you our dear Lord God. Amen Welcome, and opening prayer
Dear God, thank you for the world and universe you created. The outstanding beauty, the intricate complexities that allow life. A universe lovingly made by you – and made for us to love too. Please help us show our love by caring for our world – to be the stewards you intended us to be. And let us love each other as you love us. Please help us bring peace to your world. Amen Readings The day before Christmas, 1968. The astronauts of Apollo 8 read from Genesis as they orbited the moon for the first time, crossing the dark side and into the brilliant light of the sun. The reading, broadcast to the world, not only expressed the wonder experienced by the astronauts and marked the historic moment: the first time humans had flown to the moon and looked back at Earth.
